Latvijas Pasts has announced that the flow of postal parcels and letters to Qatar has been restored.
This means shipments to Qatar are now being accepted and routed again through the Latvijas Pasts network.
If you plan to send shipments to Qatar, you can create and process shipments as usual on the platform.
Latvijas Pasts has introduced a new and more convenient way for recipients to collect their shipments from parcel lockers.
From now on, customers will receive a QR code in their delivery notification email, which can be scanned directly at the parcel locker to open the compartment. This option is available in addition to the existing 6-digit PIN code, which remains unchanged and can still be used.
When a shipment arrives at a Latvijas Pasts parcel locker, the recipient will receive the usual email notification. The email will now also include a QR code designed for easy scanning on mobile devices, without needing to zoom in.
Indoor parcel lockers
After pressing the “Receive” button on the screen, recipients will see the option to scan the QR code.
Outdoor parcel lockers
The scanner is active immediately, allowing recipients to scan the QR code at any time.
The traditional PIN code pickup option remains available as an alternative method.

You can now define default extra services per carrier in your account preferences. If a carrier supports additional services such as Signature on Delivery, Insurance, Fragile, or others, you can set them as defaults so they are automatically applied when creating shipments for supported destinations.
This helps reduce manual steps and speeds up shipment creation, especially if you frequently use the same extra services.

Severe weather conditions have led to the cancellation of all flights to Madeira, affecting the transportation of mail and parcel shipments to the region.
Currently, there is an estimated 3.5-ton backlog of shipments to Madeira due to the flight cancellations. Additionally, the postal operator PTA is experiencing difficulties sending mail to the Azores, where approximately 1 ton of shipments is awaiting dispatch.
Shipments are being forwarded as transport capacity becomes available, and deliveries will resume gradually as operations stabilize.

Due to a severe winter storm impacting the New York region since February 23, 2026, international mail operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport have been temporarily suspended.
The storm is causing heavy snow, freezing rain, sleet, and extreme cold, leading to widespread flight cancellations, airport service interruptions, and power outages. As a result, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is currently unable to guarantee timely processing and delivery of shipments.
This affects both domestic and international services, including letter-post, parcel-post, and EMS shipments. Packages routed through the New York area may experience delays.
USPS is actively working to minimize disruptions while prioritizing the safety of its employees. Operations will gradually resume as weather conditions improve and airport services return to normal.
We recommend keeping an eye on your shipment tracking updates and allowing extra transit time for parcels destined for the U.S.
Poste Italiane has informed Union member countries and their designated operators that several Italian unions have confirmed a 24-hour strike involving the aviation and airport sectors. The strike will commence at 00:01 CET (UTC+1) on 26 February 2026.
As a result of the industrial action, there is a risk of flight cancellations, delays, and disruptions to airport services across Italy. Consequently, all postal product categories may experience operational delays.
Poste Italiane has stated that mitigation measures will be implemented at its facilities to minimize the impact. However, depending on the level of participation in the strike, disruptions may continue in the days following the strike date.
Further information on scheduled strikes (in Italian) is available via the official Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport website.
A packing slip is a shipment document that lists the physical contents of a package, including:
Unlike an invoice, a packing slip does not include pricing or payment information. Its purpose is operational — ensuring that the correct items are picked, packed, and dispatched.
