A 24-hour strike affecting Italy’s aviation and airport sectors will take place on 26 February 2026, potentially causing flight cancellations, delays, and shipment disruptions. All postal product categories may be impacted.
Poste Italiane has informed Union member countries and their designated operators that several Italian unions have confirmed a 24-hour strike involving the aviation and airport sectors. The strike will commence at 00:01 CET (UTC+1) on 26 February 2026.
As a result of the industrial action, there is a risk of flight cancellations, delays, and disruptions to airport services across Italy. Consequently, all postal product categories may experience operational delays.
Poste Italiane has stated that mitigation measures will be implemented at its facilities to minimize the impact. However, depending on the level of participation in the strike, disruptions may continue in the days following the strike date.
Further information on scheduled strikes (in Italian) is available via the official Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport website.
